About
The project and the person behind it.
The Project
BoilerPass is a fast, native desktop app that consolidates Purdue University's fragmented access tools into one window. Microsoft TOTP codes, portal shortcuts, sandbox SSH keys, VPN, and remote desktop, without switching apps or copying codes manually.
It started as a Python CLI (v1) and is now a ground-up v2 rewrite in Tauri (Rust) with a React frontend: smaller binary, native OS keychain for secrets, and a native window with glassmorphism.
The Developer
Hi, I'm Umberto Puddu, a Purdue student and systems engineer with a focus on native tooling, developer experience, and clean architecture. I build things that make daily workflows feel fast and intentional.
BoilerPass grew out of frustration with Purdue's authentication setup. If it saves you 30 seconds a day, that's two hours a semester back in your pocket.
